WorkZone 2022.2

Guidelines for upgrading WorkZone from earlier versions

When upgrading from an earlier WorkZone version, check the Upgrade to WorkZone 2022.2 from previous WorkZone versions to not miss any important tasks and steps.

The WZSql database tool

The WZSql database tool is used to install new WorkZone databases and upgrade WorkZone 2021.3 databases or newer.

If you are upgrading a WorkZone 2021.3 or newer database, the upgrade process is completed in one step, using the WZsql.exe database tool.

If you are upgrading a WorkZone 2021.2 or older database, the upgrade process is split into two sequential steps:

  1. Upgrade the database to WorkZone 2021.3 using the Scansql.exe database tool.
  2. Upgrade the 2021.3 database to your current version using the WZsql.exe database tool.

The WZSql database tool was introduced in WorkZone 2021.3. The Scansql database tool is still used to create and maintain text indexes.

New DELEGATEADM access code

A new access code has been introduced: DELEGATEADM. Users assigned the DELEGATEADM access code can assign delegates for other users. This reinstates functionality that had been removed from WorkZone2018.1.

In WorkZone 2018.1 and older, the CONFIGADM access code enabled users to assign delegates for other users. While the functionality has been reinstated, the DELEGATEADM access code is now used instead of CONFIGADM.

Users that are not assigned the DELEGATEADM access code can still only assign delegates for themselves.

e-Boks push service

A new method level access control has been introduced in the e-Boks push service.

Oracle SQL Developer

Oracle SQL Developer is included as a third party product during the initial installation of WorkZone Content Server.

The Oracle SQL Developer is a free integrated development environment that developers, technicians, and database administrators can use to edit, develop and manage On-Premise and Cloud-based Oracle databases.

The Oracle SQL Developer distribution consists of the SQLDeveloper program folder that contains all required components, downloaded from Oracle. The Oracle SQL Developer environment is located and run from the SQLDeveloper folder, found on the installed web server in C:\Program Files (x86)\KMD\WorkZone\Program\.

Install and set up SQLDeveloper

The WZSetupFiles folder of the SQLDeveloper folder contains optional setup/configuration files for the SQL Developer environment, including the following files:

  • Product-preferences.xml: Stores UI parameters for the SQLDeveloper user interaction for a more convenient user interface setup.
  • ReadMe: Contains instructions for installing the optional setup/configuration files.
  • connections.json: Contains a predefined database setup of DB01.

You can set up the database when you run SQL Developer the first time instead of using the connections.json file.

The Oracle SQL Developer was also made available for WorkZone 2022.1 as a hotfix: WorkZone Content Server 2022.1 Hotfix 01.
