Prerequisite knowledge

Managing a container-based, on-premises setup of WorkZone requires a certain degree of technical knowledge. We also recommend that you consult with KMD on establishing and operating a container-based WorkZone. We can provide training and consultation both directly and in collaboration with third-party partners. You can request these services through KMD or the KMD partner ecosystem.

Kubernetes

As WorkZone runs on Kubernetes it is important to understand how to manage a Kubernetes platform. On the Kubernetes website Production-Grade Container Orchestration, you can find a lot of relevant documentation and literature. On this site, you can also take certifications in Kubernetes. See Kubernetes learning and training. Relevant Kubernetes certifications could be:

  • Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA)

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS)

Azure/Azure Stack and Azure AKS

Running and setting up WorkZone on an Azure and Azure AKS platform requires prerequisite knowledge. Some resources that are relevant for managing WorkZone on Azure are:

  • Azure/ Azure Stack HCI – It is necessary to have basic knowledge and a general understanding of the Azure platform to provision and configure the relevant services used.

  • Entra IDWorkZone uses Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for authentication and authorization, and it is important to have general knowledge and understanding of Entra ID identities, groups, application registration, and SCIM provisioning.

  • Azure security – It is necessary to have an understanding of the security infrastructure in Azure to make sure that your organization's platform has features such as multi-factor authentication and Mobile Device Management (MDM).

  • Azure AKS and Azure Registry – It is necessary to have basic knowledge of the Azure AKS platform and the container registry to run the WorkZone containers and orchestrate them through Azure AKS.

Microsoft offers a selection of certification paths that are good starting points in learning about and gaining experience with the elements mentioned above. Relevant certifications to take could be:

Certifications:

Database

WorkZone uses Oracle as its database system. To set up WorkZone on Oracle, you will need a general understanding of Oracle. The areas below are relevant for managing WorkZone on Oracle.

Oracle on-premises training and certification

Managing Oracle on-premises requires knowledge on a database administrator (DBA) level of Oracle Database Administration as well as experience with and knowledge of Oracle Database Backup and Recovery, security and Performance. The certification Oracle DB Admin 2019 Certified Professional Credential covers most of the relevant topics.

Oracle Cloud infrastructure training and certification

Managing Oracle in Oracle Cloud on Oracle Autonomous does not require on-premises training but it is beneficial to have an in-depth knowledge of Oracle.

Certifications:

  • Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud Professional (2023)

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure 2022 Architect Professional
