Install and configure WorkZone Teams

Prerequisite:

  • WorkZone Teams app is currently supported with WorkZone Cloud Edition only.
  • Your organization must use Entra ID in order to use Microsoft Teams with WorkZone.
  • You must have the appPackage.zip app manifest. Download appPackage.zip (ZIP file).

The WorkZone Teams installation involves:

  1. Server-side setup
  2. Client-side installation

Server-side setup

WorkZone Teams application is hosted on https//teams.workzone.cloud and is deployed and configured by KMD technicians. This includes:

  • Hosting the WorkZone Teams application files
  • Configuring Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) by adding teamsHostname: teams.workzone.cloud to the environment's Helm chart.

No action is required from your organization for the server-side setup.

Client-side installation

Choose one of the following installation methods based on your needs:

Upload WorkZone Teams app (for testing or individual use)

  1. Start Microsoft Teams (either the web version or the desktop version).
  2. Upload the WorkZone Teams app to your organization. See Upload your custom app in Microsoft Teams article from Microsoft.

Publish the WorkZone Teams app to your organization.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams admin center (requires Teams admin permissions).
  2. Publish the WorkZone Teams app to your organization. See Publish your app to your org article from Microsoft.
