Required changes for WorkZone 365 add-ins to work

To enable WorkZone 365 add-ins authentication, you must perform additional changes to the WorkZone app registration. See Other required changes for WorkZone 365 add-ins to work.

WorkZone app registration: new Redirect URI for WorkZone One

WorkZone 2026.1 adds a new redirect URI for WorkZone One to your WorkZone app registration in Microsoft Entra ID. Apply it, before you upgrade to 2026.1, or your users will not be able to sign in afterwards.

Get the latest version of the WorkZone app registration script (New-KmdWorkZoneIdentityApp.ps1) and run it against your app registration.

New Redirect URI for WorkZone One: https://<domain_name>/client/redirect (no trailing slash).

Increased length of USER_NAME and NAME_CODE fields

The maximum length of the USER_NAME and NAME_CODE fields has been increased from 30 to 67 characters. This change allows full email addresses to be used.

If you are upgrading to this release and want to make use of the extended length, make sure to update the ID length configuration accordingly. In WorkZone Configurator, go to Contact > Contact types > Employee, and adjust the ID length field to reflect the new maximum length.

New Save on Send feature in WorkZone 365 and required steps when upgrading from earlier WorkZone 365 versions to 2026.1

New Save on Send feature in WorkZone 365 (only supported with Exchange Online) allows your users to automatically save their sent emails in WorkZone and mark them with the Saved in WorkZone category. The MailManifest.xml manifest file has been updated to include a new menu item in the Compose view. Depending on where your organization's mailboxes are located (in Exchange Online or in Exchange SE), you might need to complete additional steps, when upgrading from an earlier WorkZone 365 version to 2026.1. ADReader: New configuration file setting: workZoneInstance

The previous command line parameter dbName has been removed. The corresponding setting is now configured with the new workZoneInstance parameter. See Pre-configure with the wizard

Support of AD replication to WorkZone on air-gapped environments

WorkZone now supports replication of Active Directories on air-gapped environments. See Replicate WorkZone users and access codes from a local AD to WorkZone.

Updated setting options in the AD Connector wizard

You can now specify a configuration for WorkZone OData URL and NTLM/Entra ID in the configuration wizard for the AD Reader. The Wizard now also displays the product version number.

A new HideRedirectionTemplate registry key is available for WorkZone for Office Windows Registry. It defines how WorkZone for Office will handle the redirection templates when new documents are created from WorkZone Client.

The new KMDServerScan Directory Watcher Service is a Windows service that uploads scanned documents and their metadata to cases in WorkZone.

When you create a guest user based on an e-mail address that is not of your organization's primary domain, the generated user name of the guest user will be suffixed with a running number. This behavior is introduced to ensure that all users have unique user names. It is generally recommended that you name your internal users uniquely, also across subdomains. Updated configuration guidelines for registering the WorkZone app in Azure

If your organization will use WorkZone 365 with shared mailboxes on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, you must set custom account to your WorkZone 365 application pool in the Internet Information Services (IIS). See Set custom account in WorkZone 365 application pool.

• To use WorkZone 365 add-ins, you will need to download and adjust relevant manifest files. See Deploy and configure WorkZone 365.

• If your organization will use WorkZone 365 with shared mailboxes on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2019, you must add an impersonation permission to your Exchange server first. See Using WorkZone 365 with shared mailboxes on Exchange Server SE.

Add process packages

You can now add customized process packages using in WorkZone Configurator.

Note that existing command line Package Loader tool is not supported in a cloud installation.
