Other processes

The §20 question process is common for ministerial matters but there are other related processes. Some examples are described below.

Other external inquiries

Other inquiries, such as citizen inquiries, are in principle treated in the same way as §20 questions, but the deadlines are considerably longer, and there might be less case handling, and typically fewer approvers. In some case, the replies are only approved by the Permanent Secretary, who responds to the inquiry on behalf of the Minister.

Internal review and approval processes

A number of processes arise on their own initiative in the organization or in an associated agency. In this case, there is not a previous distribution of a question, but merely a proposal or draft document which is submitted for approval.

Administrative inquiries and tasks

A large number of administrative inquiries and tasks go to the permanent secretary, for example approval of the purchases.
