Create a custom type

Prerequisite: You must be assigned the CONFIGADM access code to configure (create, edit and delete) custom types.

To create a new custom type

  1. In WorkZone Configurator > Global > Custom types, click Create custom type to open the Create custom type form.
  2. In the Create custom type form:
    1. In the Name field, enter a unique name for the custom type.
    2. In the Label by default field, enter a unique label for the custom type. This is the default label which be will displayed if a localized label field is empty and the user selects the respective language as the WorkZone display language. The default label only refers to the custom type name and not to any underlying custom fields.
  3. (Optional) To add localized labels, expand the Localize label section:
    1. In the Label (da-DK) field, enter a user-friendly label of the custom type that will be displayed when Danish is selected as the WorkZone display language.
    2. In the Label (de-DE) field, enter a user-friendly label of the custom type that will be displayed when German is selected as the WorkZone display language.
    3. In the Label (en-GB) field, enter a user-friendly label of the custom type that will be displayed when English is selected as the WorkZone display language.
  4. Define start and end dates for the custom type:
    1. In the Start date field, define when the custom type is to be available to users and open for data insertion. If the Start date field is empty, the custom type will be available immediately after creation.
    2. In the End date field, set the expiry date of the custom type. If the End date field empty, the custom type will never expire.
  5. Select the R/W Access code option to enable users to specify Read and/or Write access codes for the custom type.
  6. Click the Create button to save your changes and close the form.
