Edit an existing custom type

Prerequisite: You must be assigned the CONFIGADM access code to configure (create, edit and delete) custom types.

You cannot change an existing custom type name or default label.

To edit an existing custom type

  1. In WorkZone Configurator > Global > Custom types, select the custom type you want to edit from the drop-down list in the menu bar and click Edit custom type to open the edit form.
  2. (Optional) To add localized labels, expand the Localize label section:
    1. In the Label (da-DK) field, enter a user-friendly label of the custom type that will be displayed when Danish is selected as the WorkZone display language.
    2. In the Label (de-DE) field, enter a user-friendly label of the custom type that will be displayed when German is selected as the WorkZone display language.
    3. In the Label (en-GB) field, enter a user-friendly label of the custom type that will be displayed when English is selected as the WorkZone display language.
  3. Define start and end dates for the custom type:
    1. In the Start date field, define when the custom type is to be available to users and open for data insertion. If the Start date field is empty, the custom type will be available immediately after creation.
    2. In the End date field, set the expiry date of the custom type. If the End date field empty, the custom type will never expire.
  4. Select the R/W Access code option to enable users to specify Read and/or Write access codes for the custom type.
  5. Click the Save button to save your changes and close the form.
